Lumineers
Lumineers
Perfectly white, evenly spaced teeth are rarely an accident of nature. Usually, people with perfect teeth have had them straightened or whitened, or have undergone other cosmetic dental procedures designed to give them that perfect smile. If your teeth have minor problems with tooth spacing, minor tooth rotation problems, are worn, misshapen, unusually small, or stained, Lumineers might be the ideal solution for you. Dr. Zadeh, your Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist, is skilled with repairing cosmetic dental issues, including placing dental veneers of all types.
Lumineers are a type of dental veneer, or thin porcelain covering that is bonded to the fronts of your teeth to cover minor cosmetic dental problems. The traditional dental veneers require filing down and scoring the fronts of teeth, which damages the tooth permanently. The filing reduces the thickness of the teeth to accommodate the thickness of the veneers, and scoring the teeth helps provide the rough surface necessary for bonding the veneers. Lumineers are thinner than the traditional veneers, which means that the teeth require very little or no filing. As a result, your teeth are not damaged as much and you will not need a local anesthetic to numb the teeth in preparation for grinding them down.
Placing these thin veneers is a minimally-invasive process that can typically be accomplished in a few office visits. First, you will have a consultation with Dr. Zadeh in which he will examine your teeth. If he determines that this type of veneer is a good solution for you, he will make impressions of your teeth and take x-rays. Then, he will send the impressions to a laboratory that will custom create your veneers.
When the veneers come back to Dr. Zadeh’s office, he will schedule an appointment to apply them to your teeth. First, he will check the veneers to make sure that they fit correctly, and if necessary, he will trim them. Next, if your teeth need to be scored or filed slightly to place the veneers, he will perform those procedures. Then, the veneers will be bonded to your teeth with a special light that activates the bonding material. Finally, Dr. Zadeh will check your teeth and bite to make sure that the veneers fit correctly and will trim away excess bonding material. Dr. Zadeh may ask you to return for a follow-up visit, in which he will check the veneers to make sure that they are bonded correctly and fit well.
With proper care, your Lumineers can last for many years. Your teeth will appear even and your smile will be movie star white. Call today to make an appointment for a consultation and find out if dental veneers can benefit you.
